Events
GLYPN offers regular virtual events to connect young professionals across the basin. Events are held on a monthly to quarterly basis, depending on the time of year. Past network events include virtual happy hours, workshops, roundtable discussions, story hours, local meet-ups, and movie screenings. Events facilitate relationship building and knowledge sharing among Network members. Click here to view upcoming GLYPN events.
Peer-to-Peer Mentor Program
Launched in 2022, GLYPN’s Peer-to-Peer Mentor Program provides an opportunity for young professionals serving the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River to network with one another, exchange advice, and problem solve around every day challenges that come with being a young professional in the field. Each month, participants of the program are connected via email with another peer in the field. Peer pairs independently connect via phone, video chat, or in-person. Email us to join our next round of peer-to-peer pairings.
Steering Committee
GLYPN is guided by a volunteer steering committee which meets virtually on a monthly basis. Steering Committee members brainstorm events, coordinate communications, and plan programming for GLYPN. We welcome young professionals interested in sharing and/or building their skills to join the Steering Committee at any time. Steering Committee participants are expected to commit one year, to attend most meetings, and provide additional contributions to grow and maintain the network. Steering Committee support may include marketing, communications, web management event/program planning, email marketing, recruitment, member relations, fundraising, or other new ideas.
